TYPES OF SNOW STORMS

SNOW FLURRIES-light snow falling for short periods.
SNOW SHOWERS-snow falling a a somewhat intense level over brief periods of time. 
 SNOW SQUALLS-brief but intense snow showers accompanied by high winds.
 BLOWING SNOW-considered a dangerous winter hazard.High winds can blow snow through the atmosphere and can decrease visibility.
 NOR'EASTER-low pressure snow storm.
 BLIZZARDS- the most hazardous of winter storms. There is extremely high winds where visibility is gone completely and it is encouraged to remain indoors.
 ICE STORMS-another dangerous winter storm. Usually blamed for deaths that occur within that period.
SLEET- raindrops freeze into ice pellets before reaching the ground. Weight of this on power lines can be dangerous.
